In the 1960 annual report of the Singapore Police Force, it is recorded that the purpose in setting up the Police Cadet Corps was
  1. "to break down the barrier between the people and the police force, to achieve better cooperation and understanding of police duties by the public in general, besides instilling a greater sense of discipline in youth, and a stronger sense of civic responsibility."
Over the years, the Corps was to grow in numbers and substance.
