Overseas Leadership Adventure Course (OLAC)
NPCC HQ is once again organising the Overseas Leadership Adventure Course (OLAC) and is calling for positive responses from interested parties. NPCC HQ has brought forward the course dates after gathering feedback from the ground. The course will now run from
Thursday 18 Nov 2010 to
Tuesday 24 Nov 2010 at Western Australia.
OLAC provides both leadership theory and practical leadership experience through a series of experiential activities. The programme is designed to achieve the following outcomes:
- - understanding of self in terms of leadership, identifying personal leadership styles, strengths and weaknesses;
- - developing planning and prioritising skills;
- - developing effective communication skills;
- - developing problem-solving skills;
- - developing effective conflict resolution skills;
- - learning facilitation methodology and techniques
Things to note:
- - Only Teacher Officers/Honorary Officers who are currently serving NPCC and has served for minimum 2 years can apply. All applications must be accompanied with strong justification, must be supported by the AC and endorsed by the school principal (if applicant is a Teacher-Officer).
- - Applicants may be required to go through an interview session
- - Applicant can expect to undergo outdoor physical activities and must be certified medically fit (Medical fee borne by applicant)
- - Applicants who are Honorary Officers may be required to pay a nominal fee of 15 % of actual cost.
